One of those days

Do you ever just have one of those days where things just seem to go wrong and you end up all sore and beat up. It usually happens to me when I'm tired and almost always to my hands. For instance, a couple of weeks ago as my family and I were getting ready for my brothers graduation party. Most of this was cleaning up debris in the yard and so when my dad uncovered a pile of decaying plywood I started picking the pieces up and carrying them off to a rotten wood pile that we were saving in the barn. Now being the careful person I am around critters, I always look under things before picking them off the ground and so I did with these. However, as I dropped one piece over the fence I noticed a big black spider where my hand had been and as I watched it crawl around a corner I noticed that it had a bright red hourglass shape on its belly. I smashed it and went on about my business. about fifteen minutes later I noticed that a part of my palm was starting to swell and itch. Soon I was starting to feel worried for no reason. Needless to say, mom started freaking out and immediately started applying all the home remedies she new of and one of them must have stopped it because the symptoms didn't progress. Throughout the next couple of days the swelling went down and I only experienced occasional lightheadedness (I can now sympathize with blonds). However, that was no the only thing that happened. I cut myself on my hand and picked up a big sliver that only seemed to get deeper the more I dug until I hit blood and dad told me to leave it alone.
Yesterday I did it again. First I smashed one of my fingers with a wrench. Then sometime later during the day I brushed the back of my hand against a corroded battery terminal and decided to wash it later since I was busy. I forgot. Later in the afternoon I was sitting in the tractor and noticed that there was a spot on the back of my hand that was starting to burn and it was already through the first few layers of skin. I stopped the tractor and started to get out so that I could poor water on it from my jug. However, dad had put a new door lever on the one of our tractor doors and not being used to it I wedged the my little finger between the lever and the latch plate, pinching some skin off my knuckle in such a way that it is hard to heal. The water slowed the acid down but I knew that I needed a base to neutralize it and so after a few intense moments of pain where the ammonia from some Windex reacted with the acid, the burning stopped completely. Then I went and pinched some more skin of a knuckle on another finger. Oh well, some days are just like that.
